Buyer standards

Policy version 1.0 · effective 7 Sep 2026

Subject to legal review. Marketplace payment protection is not a licensed escrow or banking service.

Subject to legal review

Buyers on BuyerReq must treat demand as real transactional inventory — not a free fishing tool for seller data.

Buyers must

- Describe needs accurately and keep required vs preferred specifications clear - Set genuine demand (budget, quantity, condition, location at safe granularity) - Avoid prohibited and restricted items - Not impersonate another person or business - Not post fake requests to harvest seller contacts, prices, or inventory - Respond reasonably after accepting an offer (pay, provide delivery details, or cancel per policy) - Provide a valid delivery address or honor an agreed pickup plan - Inspect promptly inside the inspection window - Preserve evidence (photos, tracking, handover confirmation) - Use disputes honestly and not abuse chargebacks - Not solicit off-platform payment to evade marketplace rules or fees - Return items when a return is required under [Returns](/returns)

Why this matters

Fake buyer demand harms sellers and degrades matching quality. BuyerReq may remove requests, limit accounts, and retain evidence for abuse.
