Trust on BuyerReq
Policy version 1.0 · effective 7 Sep 2026
Subject to legal review. Marketplace payment protection is not a licensed escrow or banking service.
Subject to legal review
This page states what BuyerReq actually checks — not marketing slogans. Transparency builds trust better than vague “secure / verified / protected” claims.
What BuyerReq verifies
Only checks that exist in product today: - Account email ownership when email confirmation is completed - Optional identity / business document review when submitted and approved by ops (Personal or Business verification tiers) - Order, payment, and fulfillment records tied to the transaction - Dispute evidence and message history when a case is opened
Verification badges describe **what was checked**, not a guarantee of honesty.
What sellers declare
Sellers declare condition, ownership/authorization to sell, product details, photos, shipping or pickup terms, and ETA. BuyerReq does not independently authenticate every item, serial, or photo unless a specific check is published for that case.
What BuyerReq does not guarantee
No marketplace can guarantee every user’s honesty or every item’s quality. We do not guarantee outcomes outside published Buyer Protection eligibility, and we do not operate as a licensed bank or escrow agent.
How reputation works
Transaction reviews come from **completed** marketplace orders. Demo or sample accounts are labeled and are not presented as live marketplace trust. Incomplete, cancelled, or disputed-only interactions do not create polished “trust theater.”
How protected transactions work
Eligible checkout holds payment through the configured payment provider until inspection or confirmation. Coverage, deadlines, evidence, and remedies are in [Buyer Protection](/buyer-protection), [Seller Protection](/seller-protection), [Returns](/returns), and [Disputes](/disputes).
How to report suspicious activity
Use the in-app report controls where available, or email support@buyerreq.com with the request/order URL, handles involved, and evidence. Serious fraud may be escalated and accounts frozen.
