Terms of service

This document is a practical marketplace summary for BuyerReq. It does not create a bank, licensed escrow agent, remittance business, or regulated trust relationship.

Agreement

By creating an account or using BuyerReq you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Buyer Protection summary, and Prohibited Items rules. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Marketplace role

BuyerReq is a buyer-driven reverse marketplace: buyers post what they need locally; nearby sellers compete with offers. Prefer local deals. Buy from far away only when you have a clear reason.

BuyerReq matches buyers and sellers and records the Handshake. It is not a party to the sale, and it does not process, hold, or guarantee money. After Handshake, the parties arrange meet, shipping, and payment themselves. BuyerReq payment protection does not apply to that arrangement.

Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter transactions to create an account. You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your handle. We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse, prohibited items, chargeback abuse, or Terms breaches. Handles are unique and generally not transferable.

Fees

The fee that applies to an order is the rate shown on Payments & Fees and on the offer before the buyer accepts. The fee recorded when the order is created does not change later.

The item price and shipping stay between buyer and seller — BuyerReq does not collect them.

Payments

BuyerReq does not process, hold, or guarantee payments. Buyers and sellers agree on price, confirm with Handshake on the order record, then arrange meet, shipping, and money exchange directly with each other.

Current flow: request → private offer → buyer accepts → buyer clicks Handshake to record the agreement → both parties arrange meet, shipping, and money themselves. Handshake is a marketplace record, not a payment.

Cancellations

Before Handshake, the buyer can cancel. The request may reopen for other offers. BuyerReq never held money, so there is nothing to refund.

After Handshake, meet, shipping, and money are between the buyer and the seller. Cancel or change that arrangement with the other party. BuyerReq can close the order record, but it cannot refund a payment it never processed.

Shipping and pickup

Sellers must fulfill the accepted offer (shipping mode, ETA, condition). Buyers must be available for delivery or pickup as agreed. For pickup, both parties keep evidence (time, place, photos, handover confirmation with the one-time BuyerReq code). Residential addresses are never published on the public feed — meetup details stay on the private order page. Risk of loss generally passes per the accepted fulfillment method once delivery or pickup handover is confirmed, subject to Buyer Protection.

Disputes and chargebacks

During the inspection window, buyers may open a dispute with reasons and evidence. Ops may apply remedies such as none, partial, refund, replacement guidance, or return-required. Outcomes depend on evidence, message history, and policy.

Card disputes and BuyerReq disputes are separate processes. A card issuer or payment provider may make decisions independently under its own rules. Contact support@buyerreq.com promptly if you initiate or receive a payment dispute so evidence and account records can be preserved. Filing a chargeback does not automatically settle the marketplace case; abuse may result in account action.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BuyerReq is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for seller/buyer misconduct beyond our reasonable operational controls. Our aggregate liability relating to a single order is limited to the platform fees paid for that order, except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are intended to be interpreted under applicable law where BuyerReq operates. The operator name, licence, and venue will be published on this page when they are issued. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence may still apply where they cannot be waived.

Amendments

We may update these Terms by publishing a new version and updating the policy version shown on this page. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of material changes where permitted by law. Questions: support@buyerreq.com.
