Safe selling on BuyerReq
This page describes how sellers stay safer while BuyerReq records Handshake deals. It is not insurance, a reimbursement fund, or escrow.
BuyerReq does not hold the purchase money and cannot independently reverse or refund payments made between users.

How a deal works today
Buyers post demand. You offer. When the buyer Handshakes, the agreement is recorded. You then arrange meet, shipping, and money with the buyer.
Seller checklist
- Offer only what you can fulfill exactly.
- Disclose condition and known defects.
- Use clear photos of the actual item.
- After Handshake, confirm meetup or tracking in the order thread.
- Keep evidence (pre-handover photos, tracking, receipt).
If you cannot fulfill
Tell the buyer promptly in the order thread and cancel the deal record with them. BuyerReq never held money, so there is no platform refund button for the purchase price.
What BuyerReq can do
- Keep the Handshake and message record.
- Review abuse reports and limit accounts.
- Help clarify the agreed offer terms.
What BuyerReq cannot do
- Block or release a “seller payout.”
- Refund a buyer for money paid outside BuyerReq.
- Guarantee that every buyer will pay or collect.

Protected checkout documentation is not current operating policy until that feature is enabled for an order.
